Incentives

• Comfort Home: Compensation from NYSERDA for providing no-cost energy assessments and access to a customer base for residential envelope improvement projects.
• EmPower+: Participating contractors get project leads and compensation from NYSERDA for completing energy efficiency upgrades at low- to moderate-income residences.
• Home Energy Efficiency Programs: Direct access to residential customers through NYSERDA’s multiple home energy assessment pathways.
• Appliance Upgrade Program: Participating NYSERDA contractors offer incentives to income-eligible residential customers. Incentives are available for eligible ENERGY STAR^® appliances as well as for any necessary electrical upgrades, including wiring and panel upgrades, for installation of the eligible appliance.
• PSEG-LI Home Comfort Program: Utility heat pump program for contractors serving Long Island.

Financing Support

• Residential Financing Programs: Low-interest loan products that participating contractor may offer to customers to help finance energy audits and energy upgrades. Comfort Home and EmPower+ contractors are automatically enrolled as participating contractors in the Green Jobs – Green New York financing program.

Other Resources

• Workforce Development and Training: Contractors may benefit from access to a hiring, training, and internship programs including wage support, curriculum development, and more.
• Inflation Reduction Act: Federal tax credits may be available to help pay for energy upgrades.
• NYSERDA Event Calendar: NYSERDA hosts a wide variety of events for energy professionals throughout the State.

NYSERDA has developed training materials on cold-climate air source heat pump sizing and design that are available for use in training programs.
