Application of AWHPs for Hydronic Heating & Cooling

Sponsored by HeatSpring

On-Demand Training | Available at Any Time

This training is not a manufacturer sponsored training and does not meet the requirements for the NYS Clean Heat program ASHP or GSHP contractor requirements.

Modern air-to-water heat pumps are an emerging renewable energy heat source. They can also provide cooling. When combined with a hydronic distribution system, these heat pumps provide unsurpassed year-round comfort. They can also serve ancillary loads such as domestic water heating and pool heating. The efficiency of modern “low ambient” air-to-water can approach that of geothermal heat pumps on a seasonal basis, and usually at an installed cost that’s less than half that associated with geothermal heat pumps. This course introduces the technology used in modern air-to-water heat pumps and shows how to build complete systems around them.

ASHP: Achieving Comfort and Efficiency in Cold Climates

Sponsored by Steven Winter Associates

On-Demand Training | Available at Any Time

This training is not a manufacturer sponsored training and does not meet the requirements for the NYS Clean Heat program contractor requirements.

Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) has developed an online training focused on the successful implementation of inverter-driven air-source heat pumps (ASHPs) in colder climates. The training takes a big-picture approach to helping stakeholders achieve both efficiency and comfort with ASHPs.

The course covers a multitude of real-world examples of both good and bad applications. ASHPs can work very well in many cold climate applications, but they are not plug and play solutions. The technology has limitations, and good performance requires thoughtful design and implementation. The intent of this course is to help people implement systems effectively and meet comfort and performance goals.

Note: You cannot enroll in any paid courses through the mobile app, this must be done through a web browser. Courses may be accessed for one year from the date of purchase.

Note: You cannot enroll in any paid courses through the mobile app, this must be done through a web browser. Courses may be accessed for one year from the date of purchase.

Note: You cannot enroll in any paid courses through the mobile app, this must be done through a web browser. Courses may be accessed for one year from the date of purchase.
